There
is no better reason to write a blog post than for the benefit of children. Our
great family friends, Jacques and Melisa, asked us to spread the word on an
awesome fundraiser put on by Better Than Ezra in order to benefit
the Better Than Ezra Foundation as well as local Houston
charity, the His Grace Foundation. The Better Than Ezra
Foundation provides support in the renewal of the structural and cultural
heritage of the band's hometown, New Orleans while His
Grace Foundation provides emotional, financial and physical support
to patients and families of the Bone Marrow
Transplant Unit (BMTU) at Texas Children's Hospital. It just so happens that
our dear friend Melisa worked in the BMTU for seven years as a nurse
practitioner. Melisa and Jacque's long-time friend and bassist for Better Than
Ezra, Tom Drummond, has gotten his bandmates together in order to make all of
this happen...
On
Thursday, August 29th from 6-9pm, the boys of Better Than Ezra will host
a Casino Night and private acoustic show before their own concert at House of Blues Houston. Straight out of the Big
Easy and former students at LSU, it's no wonder these Louziana boys chose a
casino night in order to raise a buck. I ain't mad at'em. Thank you, Better
Than Ezra. All of a sudden my black jack addiction has a purpose! I always said
that people from Louisiana are some of the best people on earth. They know how
to eat, they know how to feed others and they know how to f'ing party! If you
aren't an Ezralite yet, then this heartfelt gesture which they are making
should get you off the fence. All donations will benefit the Better Than Ezra Foundation and His Grace Foundation. Take a couple of minutes out of your busy day
and browse the websites for these incredible charities.

asses off and, in general, it's small so it often gets lost in the big cancer
center at Texas Children's Hospital."
